Howdy Folks,

Today was our first day being open and what a great day it was. We appreciate everyone’s patience with us as we are still experiencing growing pains getting everything set up at the new location. All buildings on site must be temporary structures that can be moved and the only one it came with I live in so we have to make/buy/rent our own. We have feed, supplements, chickens, straw and shavings currently in stock. In the coming days we’ll be regularly adding more products so please keep checking in here at the site for more info.

Need delivery? Keep an eye out on the website for info on our new delivery service. Depending on popularity of the service, deliveries may be done every other weekend either one or both days to start. Pricing will be as affordable as we can get it. We will have to set a limit to our service area so that will take some figuring and with gas prices constantly destabilized we may have to set a fuel surcharge of some sort that is attached to a flat rate. Would you be interested in this service if it were affordable? Please tell us in an email. Thanks for your patience as we develop this side of our business. Stay tuned…

*Please note as we settle our storage space issues and figure out how much s/f we have to work with, the feed pricing may change.

Thanks everyone,
Eric

Opening 3/30, New Phone# etc…

Howdy folks,

My apologies for the lack of updates on progress at the new lot. I’d been meaning to post the status of things on a regular basis then I ended up rearranging the “Elf Hut” that I live in on site and the PC ended up on the shelf collecting dust for about a week before I finally set it back up. When you see the lot lately it seems like not much progress has been made but looks can be deceiving. We had a lot of things to take care of behind the scenes on top of the actual work of setting up and getting ready for customers. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

We are going to open tomorrow with limited product on hand, mostly relating to backyard chicken keeping stuff. We’ll have feed and supplements, shavings, straw and garden beds on hand for tomorrow. We still have a bunch of pullets from our first hatch on 2/11. They will be seven weeks old on Monday and are ready for the outdoors. Breeds in stock are the Rhode Island Red, Black Australorp, Barred Rock, Buff Orpington and Ameraucana. In the next week we’ll be adding more products regularly and will post everything on our website. Eventually we hope to have products related to beekeeping, organic gardening, worm composting and more including goats, turkeys and ducks and all the stuff in between.

Address: 210 NW 101st St
Seattle, WA 98177
NEW PHONE#:
(206) 659-8360
(425) 908-0369

Operating hours will be as follows:
10am to 6pm Sat/Sun
12pm to 6pm M-F (these weekday hours are temporary and will be expanded to 10am-6pm once we get all of our structures built and/or moved in to handle more products.

Please excuse our mess as we are in the middle of constructing things we need here at the shop so there’s a lot of salvaged wood, materials and tools scattered about.

One more thing to note. We plan to eventually showcase garden/yard art made by local artists at some point and are contemplating giving selected artisans a one month run to showcase their products before we bring in another to showcase their’s. This is still in the planning stages so the specifics could change a bit as we go along.

Do you want or need any products that we don’t currently offer? Please let us know.

Thanks for your time,
Eric

We’re Giving Away Our Older Chickens And Moving!

Howdy folks, well we’re finally going to be moving into a commercial lot after two years in business. It is located in Greenwood and I will post the address when I make it official either today or tomorrow.

I’m giving away all of my older chickens before the move. I have a few laying hens and some started pullets along with several big roosters, including “Joe” the Haller Lake legend himself. A lot of these birds are “barnyard mix” or “mutts” if you will, but I do have some purebred breeds as well. I’ll list what I can remember below.

2 – Black Australorp (laying or close to it. Haven’t confirmed yet and do not remember their age.)
1 – Naked Neck Turken (laying now and approx 8 months old)
1-2 Barred Rock Pullets close to laying age
Multiple feathered leg chickens including pullets and roosters fathered by Joe my Black Cochin rooster.
7-8 very large roosters including Barred Rock, Buff Orpington, Rhode Island Red rooster w/rose comb, Black Cochin and Cochin hybrids.
Welsummers (roosters and pullets both about 5 months old.)

There are others but too many to list. They are all free, first come first serve. You will have to come after they go back in to roost because I have let them out to free range for the day and will be impossible to catch. I don’t mind folks coming by at 8-9p to fit your schedule if needed. I need to get rid of them asap.

I’m also selling all baby chicks from the 2/11 hatch at $2.95/ea to make room for more chicks arriving. Breeds available listed below.

Rhode Island Red
Barred Rock
Black Australorp
Ameraucana
Buff Orpington
$2.95/ea

We are low on supplies because I’m not ordering any more stuff until the move into the new lot has progressed enough where I can start moving product in. I have to make arrangements for some temporary storage to be put on the lot whether that’s renting storage containers and/or building my own structures. We’re going into this with a limited amount of funds on hand so progress might be a bit slow the first few weeks. We appreciate everyone’s patience during this transition.

Thanks everyone,
Eric
